As a consequence of Burrswood’s new vision and direction, Dr Paul Worthley has been told that his last outpatient clinic there will be on August 31st.
Dr Paul worked at Burrswood for 24 years. He was resident Senior Physician until 2014 and for the last two years he ran an outpatient clinic for people with ME/CFS and related illnesses. Working with physiotherapists and, more recently, an occupational therapist, he pioneered a whole person and individually tailored approach to caring for people with this spectrum of disease. which has benefited hundreds of patients. The value of his approach was confirmed by a Kent University study.
Dr Paul and the ME Trust are committed to offering ongoing help and support for all those with ME/CFS who currently fall through the care net. Subject to raising sufficient funding, we will work with others to establish a new outpatient service and a home visiting service. In time, we aim to open an inpatient centre; this is integral to our vision to create a Centre of Excellence.
Please join us in making this vision a reality.
