A message from Dr Paul after the London Marathon

Dr Paul running the London Marathon 2018

Dear Friends and Supporters and ‘Cheerers on’… What a great job we all did..through thick and thin I managed to complete the Marathon ‘walk’ in 6 hours and 14 minutes at a fairly steady pace of 4.2 miles per hour.. A little bruised and sore today but up and about and taking it easy!

The support from friends and complete strangers around the course was amazing and it really helped take ones mind off the difficulties and rise above all those niggling pains.

What so many of my patients must suffer minute by minute, hour by hour day by day and year upon year does not bear thinking of. What heroes they are to keep going in the face of such adversity and with not knowing when their pain will end (unlike me, knowing mine would all be over in a few hours…).

The money we have raised…and we have now hit £10,000 with Gift Aid, hopefully will be an encouragement to them, to see that there are people ‘out there’ who are rooting for them and they are not forgotten.( #MillionsMissing). So A massive thank you to you all and only wish I could write to all of you personally to thank you, but I am afraid this post will have to do!

Would you like to support Dr Paul? There is still time! His fundraising page is open for 90 days. TOGETHER, with YOUR help, we can work to ensure that everyone with ME, their families and carers have access to good clinical services. Thank you so much for every you penny you generously donate ….
